Hadith 3212
Mujahid narrates from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that a funeral passed by us, then he said: If you also stand up and (come with us). Then he took my hand and held it tightly. When we reached near the graveyard, he heard the sound of a woman crying behind him, while he was holding my hand. He turned me around and, turning towards her, scolded her and said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade us from following such a funeral in which there is the sound of weeping.
Hadith 3213
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: There should be no fire or sound with the funeral procession.
Hadith 3214
Sayyida Umm Atiyya (may Allah be pleased with her) says: We were forbidden from following funeral processions, but it was not made strict upon us.
Hadith 3215
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) says: Once we were walking with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) when his gaze fell upon a woman. We did not think that he (peace and blessings be upon him) would have recognized her. When we turned towards the road, he (peace and blessings be upon him) stopped, until the woman reached him. She was his (peace and blessings be upon him) daughter, Sayyida Fatima (may Allah be pleased with her). He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Fatima! For what purpose have you come out of the house?" She said: "I went to the house of such-and-such people, spoke words of mercy regarding their deceased, and offered condolences to them because of the person who had passed away." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Did you reach Kuda (the graveyard) with them?" She said: "I seek refuge with Allah that I would reach the place of Kuda with them, while I have already heard your (threatening) words about this." Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If you had reached that place with them, you would not have seen Paradise until your father had seen it."
