Hadith 3181
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicating in the funeral prayer for a deceased person as follows: "You created her, and You provided her sustenance, and You guided her to Islam, and You took her soul, You know her secrets and her open deeds, we have come as intercessors for her, so forgive her." (You created her, You provided her sustenance, You guided her to Islam, You took her soul, and You alone know her inner and outer states, we have come as her intercessors, so forgive her.)
Hadith 3182
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would perform the funeral prayer for someone, he would supplicate: O Allah! Forgive our living and our dead, those present and those absent, our young and our old, our males and our females. O Allah! Whomever You keep alive from among us, keep him alive upon Islam, and whomever You cause to die from among us, cause him to die upon faith. (O Allah! Forgive our living and deceased, those present and those absent, our young and our old, and our males and our females. O Allah! Whomever You wish to keep alive from among us, keep him alive upon Islam, and whomever You wish to cause to die, cause him to die upon faith.)

So-and-so, son of so-and-so, is in Your protection and the rope of Your neighborhood, so protect him from the trial of the grave and the punishment of the Fire. You are the One worthy of loyalty and truth. O Allah! Forgive him and have mercy on him, for surely You are the Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (O Allah! So-and-so, son of so-and-so, is in Your protection and covenant of security, so save him from the trial of the grave and the punishment of the Fire. You are the One of loyalty and truth. O Allah! So forgive him and have mercy on him, for surely You are Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.)
Hadith 3186
Sayyiduna Awf bin Malik Ashja'i Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that he said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) offering the funeral prayer of a deceased person, and I understood that he (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this supplication: "O Allah! Forgive him, have mercy on him, grant him well-being, pardon him, honor his place of stay, expand his entrance, wash him with water, snow, and hail, and cleanse him of sins as You cleanse a white garment of dirt. Grant him a home better than his home, a family better than his family, and a spouse better than his spouse. Admit him into Paradise, save him from the Fire, and protect him from the punishment of the grave."
