بَابُ إِذَا أَرَادَ اللَّهُ قَبْضَ عَبْدٍ (بِأَرْضٍ يَجْعَلُ لَهُ فِيهَا حَاجَةً وَمَا جَاءَ فِي مَوْتِ الْفَجْأَةِ)
Chapter on when Allah wants to take a servant's soul in a land, He makes him have a need in it, and what is reported regarding sudden death
Hadith 3023
عَنْ مَطَرِ بْنِ عُكَامِسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((إِذَا قَضَى اللَّهُ مَيْتَةَ عَبْدٍ بِأَرْضٍ جَعَلَ لَهُ إِلَيْهَا حَاجَةً))
Sayyiduna Matr bin Akamas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When Allah Almighty intends to cause the death of a servant in a certain region, He creates a need for him towards that region (and through that pretext, he reaches there).
Hadith 3024
(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَانٍ) قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((لَا يُقَدَّرُ لِأَحَدٍ يَمُوتُ بِأَرْضِ إِلَّا حُبِّبَتْ إِلَيْهِ وَجُعِلَ لَهُ إِلَيْهَا حَاجَةٌ))
(Second chain) It is stated in this: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: When it is decreed for a person to die in a certain area, that area is made beloved to him and some need arises for him to go there.
Hadith 3025
عَنْ أَبِي عَزَّةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى إِذَا أَرَادَ قَبْضَ رُوحِ عَبْدٍ بِأَرْضٍ جَعَلَ لَهُ فِيهَا أَوْقَاتًا بِهَا حَاجَةً))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Azza (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When Allah Almighty intends to seize the soul of a servant in a certain region, He creates a need for him in that region.
Hadith 3026
عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ: سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ مَوْتِ الْفَجْأَةِ، فَقَالَ: ((رَاحَةٌ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ، وَأَخْذَةُ أَسَفٍ لِلْفَاجِرِ))
It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), she says: I asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) about sudden death. He (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: For the believer, it is a relief, but for the sinner, it is a seizure of wrath.
