بَابُ سَبَبِ مَنْعِ الْمَطَرِ عَنِ النَّاسِ
Chapter on the reason for the withholding of rain from people
Hadith 2925
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ((قَالَ رَبُّكُمْ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: لَوْ أَنَّ عِبَادِي أَطَاعُونِي لَأَسْقَيْتُهُمُ الْمَطَرَ بِاللَّيْلِ وَأَطْلَعْتُ عَلَيْهِمُ الشَّمْسَ بِالنَّهَارِ، وَلَمْ أَسْمَعْهُمْ صَوْتَ الرَّعْدِ))، وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((إِنَّ حُسْنَ الظَّنِّ بِاللَّهِ مِنْ حُسْنِ عِبَادَةِ اللَّهِ))، وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((جَدِّدُوا إِيمَانَكُمْ))، قِيلَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ! وَكَيْفَ نُجَدِّدُ إِيمَانَنَا؟ قَالَ: ((أَكْثِرُوا مِنْ قَوْلِ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Your Lord says: If My servants obey Me, I will send down rain upon them at night, I will make the sun rise for them during the day, and I will not let them hear the sound of thunder. Then the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Indeed, having good expectations of Allah is part of His good worship. The Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, further said: Keep renewing your faith. Someone asked: O Messenger of Allah! How do we renew our faith? He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Frequently recite "La ilaha illallah" (There is no god but Allah).
