أبواب صلاة الكسوفChapters on Eclipse Prayer
بَابُ مَنْ رَوَى أَنَّهَا رَكْعَتَانِ فِي كُلِّ رَكْعَةٍ خَمْسَةُ رُكُوعَاتٍ
Chapter on those who reported it is two rak'ahs, each with five bowings
Hadith 2917
عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: انْكَسَفَتِ الشَّمْسُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى بِهِمْ فَقَرَأَ بِسُورَةٍ مِنَ الطُّوَلِ ثُمَّ رَكَعَ خَمْسَ رَكَعَاتٍ وَسَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ قَامَ الثَّانِيَةَ فَقَرَأَ بِسُورَةٍ مِنَ الطُّوَلِ ثُمَّ رَكَعَ خَمْسَ رَكَعَاتٍ وَسَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ جَلَسَ كَمَا هُوَ مُسْتَقْبِلَ الْقِبْلَةِ يَدْعُو حَتَّى انْجَلَى كُسُوفُهَا
Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) says: During the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), the sun was eclipsed. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led the people in prayer, recited a surah from the long surahs, performed five bowings (ruku') and two prostrations (sujood) in the first rak'ah, then stood for the second rak'ah and recited a surah from the long surahs, then performed five bowings and two prostrations, then sat facing the qiblah and continued to supplicate until the eclipse cleared.
