Hadith 2903
Sayyiduna Nu’man bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) says: In the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), the sun was eclipsed. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did this: he led two rak‘ahs of prayer, then inquired (about the eclipse), then led two rak‘ahs, then inquired, until the sun became clear. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Some people of the Age of Ignorance think that the sun and the moon lose their light when a great person among the people of the earth dies, but in reality, it is not so. These are two creations among the creations of Allah; when Allah manifests His glory to anything among His creation, it humbles itself before Him.
