Hadith 2892
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I performed the eclipse prayer with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), but I did not hear even a single letter of the Qur'an from him.
Hadith 2893
Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates regarding the Salat al-Kusuf of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he (peace and blessings be upon him) made us stand for such a long time that he had never made us stand for so long in any other prayer. We did not hear any sound from him (peace and blessings be upon him). Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) performed an extremely long bowing (ruku‘), longer than in any other prayer, and in that too we did not hear any sound from him (peace and blessings be upon him). Then in the second rak‘ah, he (peace and blessings be upon him) did the same.
Hadith 2894
It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), she says: In the time of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), the sun was eclipsed, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to the place of prayer and said Allahu Akbar (to begin the prayer), and the people also said Allahu Akbar. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited (Qur'an) aloud and stood for a long time, then bowed (ruku') and made a long bowing, then raised his head and said "Sami' Allahu liman hamidah," then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood and recited for a long time, then bowed and made a long bowing, then raised his head and prostrated. Then he stood up and did the same in the second rak'ah, and (after completing the prayer) said: Surely the sun and the moon are two signs among the signs of Allah; they do not lose their light because of anyone's death or life... .
