Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) went out on the day of Eid al-Fitr. He did not perform any prayer before or after it. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to the women, while Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) was also with him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) began to say to them: Give charity. So the women started putting their rings and necklaces (into the garment of Sayyiduna Bilal, may Allah be pleased with him).
