Hadith 2871
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) went out on the day of Eid and did not perform any voluntary prayer before or after the Eid prayer. Then he said that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had done the same.
Hadith 2872
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) went out on the day of Eid al-Fitr. He did not perform any prayer before or after it. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to the women, while Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) was also with him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) began to say to them: Give charity. So the women started putting their rings and necklaces (into the garment of Sayyiduna Bilal, may Allah be pleased with him).
Hadith 2873
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to eat something before going out to the Eidgah on the day of Eid al-Fitr, and he would not perform any prayer before the Eid prayer. However, after offering the Eid prayer, he would (return home and) perform two rak'ahs.
