Hadith 2842
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to begin with the prayer before the sermon on the days of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, then he would deliver the sermon, and his sermon would also be about sending out armies and detachments.
Hadith 2843
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I bear witness to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he performed the prayer before the sermon on Eid, then delivered the sermon. Then it occurred to him that the women might not have heard his voice, so he went to them, preached to them, and instructed them to give charity. So the women began to put their earrings, rings, and other things (into the garment of Sayyiduna Bilal, may Allah be pleased with him).
Hadith 2844
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I did not pray the Eid prayers with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) just once or twice, (but) many times; they were performed without Adhan or Iqamah.
Hadith 2845
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led the people in two rak‘ahs of Eid al-Fitr prayer without adhan or iqamah, then after the prayer, he (peace and blessings be upon him) delivered a sermon. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) took the hand of Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) and went towards the women and addressed them. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) left from there and instructed Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) to go to them and command them to give charity.
Hadith 2846
Mawla Ibn Zubair Wahb bin Kaysan says: I heard Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) saying this in the sermon on the day of Eid, after he had performed the prayer before the sermon: O people! All of this is the Sunnah of Allah and the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).
Hadith 2847
Abdur Rahman bin Abis says: I said to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him: Were you present with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, on Eid? He said: Yes, and if it were not for my close status with the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, I would not have been able to attend due to my young age. Then he said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, came out and performed two rak‘ahs near the house of Kathir bin Salt, and then delivered the sermon. He did not mention the call to prayer (adhan) or the commencement (iqamah).
Hadith 2848
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I attended Eid with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and with Sayyiduna Abu Bakr, Sayyiduna Umar, and Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with them); all of them performed the prayer before the sermon without any adhan or iqamah.
Hadith 2849
Abu Yaqub Khayyat says: I was present with Mus'ab bin Zubair in Madinah Munawwarah on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr prayer. He sent a message to Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) to ask how the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform this prayer. He informed that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform the prayer before the sermon. So, he also performed the prayer before the sermon on that day.
Hadith 2850
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) led us in the Eid prayers without adhan or iqamah, then delivered a sermon to us, after which he came down and went towards the women, while only Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) was with him. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed them to give charity, so the women began to throw grains of their earrings, pearls, and rings towards Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him).
