Hadith 2826
عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَدِمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَدِينَةَ وَلَهُمْ يَوْمَانِ يَلْعَبُونَ فِيهِمَا فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَقَالَ: ((إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى قَدْ أَبْدَلَكُمْ بِهِمَا خَيْرًا مِنْهُمَا يَوْمَ الْفِطْرِ وَيَوْمَ النَّحْرِ))
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) says: When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived in Madinah, the people of Madinah had two days on which they used to play from the time of ignorance. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Indeed, Allah Almighty has given you better days in place of those two days—one is the day of Eid al-Fitr and the other is the day of Eid al-Adha.
Hadith 2827
عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ الْفَاكِهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ الْفَاكِهِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ وَكَانَ لَهُ صُحْبَةٌ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَغْتَسِلُ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ وَيَوْمَ عَرَفَةَ وَيَوْمَ الْفِطْرِ وَيَوْمَ النَّحْرِ، قَالَ وَكَانَ الْفَاكِهُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ يَأْمُرُ أَهْلَهُ بِالْغُسْلِ فِي هَٰذِهِ الْأَيَّامِ
Sayyiduna Fakih bin Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him), who was a Companion, narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform ghusl (ritual bath) on the days of Jumu’ah, ‘Arafah, Eid al-Fitr, and Eid al-Adha. Accordingly, Sayyiduna Fakih (may Allah be pleased with him) would also instruct his family members to perform ghusl on these days.
Hadith 2828
عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ عُمَرَ رَأَى حُلَّةَ سِيَرَاءَ أَوْ حَرِيرٍ تُبَاعُ، فَقَالَ لِلْنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: لَوِ اشْتَرَيْتَ هَٰذِهِ تَلْبَسُهَا يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ أَوْ لِلْوُفُودِ، قَالَ: ((إِنَّمَا يَلْبَسُ هَٰذِهِ مَنْ لَا خَلَاقَ لَهُ))
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) saw a garment with yellow stripes, in which there was a mixture of silk or it was a silken robe, and said to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): If you buy this and wear it on Fridays or on the arrival of various delegations. But the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: This is the clothing worn by those who have no share (in the Hereafter).
Hadith 2829
(وَعَنْهُ أَيْضًا) أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَخْرُجُ إِلَى الْعِيدَيْنِ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ وَيَرْجِعُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ أُخْرَى
It is also narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to go for the prayers of both Eids by one route and return by another route.
Hadith 2830
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا خَرَجَ إِلَى الْعِيدَيْنِ رَجَعَ فِي غَيْرِ الطَّرِيقِ الَّذِي خَرَجَ فِيهِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would go out for the two Eids by one route, he would return by another route.
