Sayyiduna Zubair bin Al-Awwam (may Allah be pleased with him) says: We used to perform Jumu'ah with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and when (after finishing) we would return, we would rush to walk in the shade of the tall buildings, but would not find any shade except that which was equal to the length of our own feet. Yazid (the narrator) says: By "Ajam" is meant tall buildings.

A man says: We were in the mosque of Kufa on Friday. Sayyiduna ‘Umar ibn Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) had appointed Sayyiduna ‘Ammar ibn Yasir (may Allah be pleased with him) as the governor of Kufa and Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn Mas‘ud (may Allah be pleased with him) as the supervisor of the treasury. Suddenly, Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn Mas‘ud (may Allah be pleased with him), seeing a shadow the size of a strap, said: If your governor is a follower of the Sunnah of the Prophet, he will come right now. The narrator says: By Allah, Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn Mas‘ud (may Allah be pleased with him) had not yet completed his statement when Sayyiduna ‘Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him) arrived and said: Pray (perform the prayer).

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, that when the sun would decline, the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, would perform the Friday prayer, and when he would set out towards Makkah Mukarramah, he would perform two units of Zuhr prayer at a tree near the place of Dhul-Hulaifah.

Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: We used to perform Jumu'ah with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), then return and take a midday nap. Abu Ahmad, the narrator, said: Then we would reach Banu Salamah and take a midday nap, and this place was at a distance of two miles.

Ja'far, the narrator, says: Letting the camels rest would be at the time of the sun's decline.
