Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: After the Iqamah, there is no prayer except the obligatory prayer. In another narration, the words are: Except for the prayer for which the Iqamah has been called.

(Second chain) The Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: When the iqamah for prayer has been called, then there is no other prayer except the obligatory prayer.

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Sarjis (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The morning prayer was established, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a man who was performing the two Sunnah units of Fajr. After finishing the prayer, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him: Which prayer did you consider as the obligatory prayer, the one you performed alone or the one you performed with us?
Hadith 2677
Abdullah bin Malik (Ibn Buhaina) (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by a man while the iqamah had been pronounced, and he was performing the two Sunnah rak'ahs of Fajr. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said something to him, but we could not understand it. When we finished the prayer, we surrounded that man and asked him: What did the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say to you? He said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: It is near that one of you begins to perform four rak'ahs for the Fajr prayer.
Hadith 2678
(Second chain) The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by this man, and he was performing a lengthy prayer before the Fajr prayer. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: Do not make this prayer like the Zuhr prayer; rather, keep a separation between these two.
Hadith 2679
It is narrated from Malik bin Buhaina that a man entered the mosque after the iqamah had been called, but he began to offer the two Sunnah rak'ahs of Fajr.
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Malik (Ibn Buhaina) رضي الله عنه narrates that the Noble Prophet صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم came for the morning prayer and Sayyiduna Ibn Qishb was praying. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The iqamah for the Fajr prayer was given, a man stood up and began to offer two sunnah rak'ahs. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) pulled him by his garment and said: Are you performing four rak'ahs for the Fajr prayer?
