Hadith 2663
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I used to see that the prayer would not be established until we had completed the rows. Whoever is pleased that tomorrow he should meet Allah Almighty as a Muslim, then he should safeguard the obligatory prayers at the place where they are called for, because these are among the ways of guidance, and indeed Allah has prescribed the ways of guidance for His Prophet.
Hadith 2664
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When the iqamah for prayer is called, do not stand up until you see me, and adhere to calmness.
Hadith 2665
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The iqamah for prayer was pronounced and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) kept whispering to a man in the mosque and did not come towards the prayer, until the people began to fall asleep.
Hadith 2666
(Second chain) They say: The iqamah for prayer was given, and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, continued whispering to a man (and did not come for the prayer) until the people began to doze off or were about to doze off.
Hadith 2667
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The iqamah for prayer was called and the rows were straightened before the arrival of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to us, and when he stood on the prayer mat, he remembered that he was in a state of janabah (major ritual impurity). Therefore, he (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed us to remain in our places, then he returned. When he came back after performing ghusl (ritual bath), drops of water were dripping from his head. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said the takbir and we prayed with him.
