أبواب صلاة الجماعةChapters on Congregational Prayer
بَابُ انْعِقَادِ الْجَمَاعَةِ بِإِمَامٍ وَمَأْمُومٍ سَوَاءً كَانَ الْمَأْمُومُ رَجُلًا أَمْ صَبِيًّا أَمِ امْرَأَةً
Chapter on the validity of congregation with an Imam and one follower, whether the follower is a man, boy, or woman
Hadith 2592
عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَأَى رَجُلًا يُصَلِّي فَقَالَ: ((أَلَا رَجُلٌ يَتَصَدَّقُ عَلَى هَٰذَا فَيُصَلِّي مَعَهُ))، فَقَامَ رَجُلٌ فَصَلَّى مَعَهُ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((هَٰذَانِ جَمَاعَةٌ))
Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a man praying alone and said: "Is there not anyone who will give charity to him and pray with him?" So a man stood up and prayed with him. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "These two men are a congregation."
Hadith 2593
عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: بِتُّ لَيْلَةً عِنْدَ خَالَتِي مَيْمُونَةَ بِنْتِ الْحَارِثِ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عِنْدَهَا فِي لَيْلَتِهَا، فَقَامَ يُصَلِّي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ، فَقُمْتُ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ لِأُصَلِّيَ بِصَلَاتِهِ، قَالَ: فَأَخَذَ بِذُؤَابَةٍ كَانَتْ لِي أَوْ بِرَأْسِي حَتَّى جَعَلَنِي عَنْ يَمِينِهِ
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I spent the night at the house of my maternal aunt Maymunah bint Harith (may Allah be pleased with her), and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was also with her that night. When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up at night and began to pray, I also stood on his left side to pray along with him. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) took hold of my hair or my head and made me stand on his right side.
Hadith 2594
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((رَحِمَ اللَّهُ رَجُلًا قَامَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَصَلَّى وَأَيْقَظَ امْرَأَتَهُ فَصَلَّتْ، فَإِنْ أَبَتْ نَضَحَ فِي وَجْهِهَا الْمَاءَ، وَرَحِمَ اللَّهَ امْرَأَةً قَامَتْ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَصَلَّتْ وَأَيْقَظَتْ زَوْجَهَا فَصَلَّى، فَإِنْ أَبَى نَضَحَتْ فِي وَجْهِهِ الْمَاءِ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: May Allah have mercy on the man who stands at night and prays, and awakens his wife, and she also prays. If she refuses to get up, he sprinkles water on her face. And likewise, may Allah have mercy on the woman who gets up at night and prays, and awakens her husband, and he also prays. If he refuses to get up, she sprinkles water on his face.
