Hadith 2458
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyiduna Ibn Umm Maktum (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! My house is far from the mosque, and I am also blind, yet I hear the call to prayer (adhan). (So can I pray at home?) The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If you hear the adhan, then respond to it, even if you have to come crawling on your buttocks or sliding on your hips.
Hadith 2459
Sayyiduna Amr bin Umm Maktum رضي الله عنه says: I came to the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم and said: O Messenger of Allah! I am blind and my house is also far from the mosque, and I have a guide but he does not cooperate with me, so will you grant me permission to pray at home? The Prophet صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم asked: Do you hear the call to prayer (adhan)? I said: Yes. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم said: Then I do not find any concession for you.
Hadith 2460
Mahmood bin Rabee’ says: Sayyiduna ‘Itbaan bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) was a blind man, so he mentioned to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about staying behind from the prayer, but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Do you hear the call to prayer (adhan)?” He said: “Yes.” Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not grant him a concession.
Hadith 2461
Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) taught us (certain matters), and among them he also said: When you stand for prayer, one man among you should lead (as imam), and when the imam recites (Qur'an), you should remain silent.
Hadith 2462
Ma’dan bin Abi Talhah Ya’mari says: Sayyiduna Abu Darda’ (may Allah be pleased with him) asked me: Where is your home? I said: In a village behind Hims. Then he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: In any village where there are three men and neither the call to prayer is given nor the prayer is established, then Satan prevails there. Therefore, adhere to the congregation, (otherwise remember that) the wolf eats the sheep that strays away from the flock.
Hadith 2463
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Surely, Satan is to man like a wolf is to sheep; he seizes the one that strays far and remains apart. So beware of the ravines, and adhere to the congregation, the general body of Muslims, and the mosque.
