It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Whenever any person among the people is afflicted with any physical pain, Allah Almighty says to the angels who protect him: Whatever good deeds My servant used to do during the day and night, you keep writing them, as long as he remains in My bondage.
Hadith 2417
Sayyiduna Imran bin Husain (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I was suffering from a fistula, so I asked the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about prayer. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Perform the prayer standing; if you are not able to stand, then pray sitting; and if you are not able to sit, then pray lying on your side.
Hadith 2418
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) fell from a horse and his right side was injured. We came to visit him, and during this, the time for prayer arrived. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led the prayer sitting, and we also prayed sitting (following him). When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) completed the prayer, he said: The Imam is appointed so that he may be followed, so when he says the takbir, you should also say the takbir; when he bows (in ruku‘), you should bow; when he prostrates, you should prostrate; when he says “Sami‘a Allahu liman hamidah,” you should say “Rabbana wa lakal hamd”; and if he leads the prayer sitting, then all of you should pray sitting.
Hadith 2419
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) fell from a horse onto the trunk of a date-palm tree, and the joint of his foot was dislocated. We went to him to tend to him, but he (peace and blessings be upon him) was performing prayer (sitting). We also began to pray along with him, while we were standing. When he (peace and blessings be upon him) finished the prayer, he said: Indeed, the Imam is appointed so that he may be followed, so when he prays standing, you should also pray standing, and if he prays sitting, then you should also pray sitting. When he is sitting, do not stand, as the Persians do with their elders (out of reverence for them).
Hadith 2420
Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that during the illness of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), people came to visit him, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) led them in prayer while sitting, whereas they were praying standing. He (peace and blessings be upon him) gestured to them to sit down. When he (peace and blessings be upon him) finished, he said: Indeed, the imam is appointed so that he may be followed, so when he bows, you should bow, when he raises his head from bowing, you should raise your heads, and when he prays sitting, you should also pray sitting.
Hadith 2421
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performed the last prayer in such a state that he (peace and blessings be upon him) was wearing a striped cloak, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) had adorned himself with it, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) was sitting.
Hadith 2422

Mukhtar bin Fulful asked Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) about the prayer of a sick person. He said: (A sick person) will perform bowing and prostration while sitting in the obligatory prayer.
Hadith 2423
Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that in the illness during which the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed away, he said: "Order Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer." Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "Abu Bakr is a very soft-hearted (and easily moved to tears) man; when he stands in your place, he will be overcome with emotion." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You are like the companions of Yusuf (Joseph), order Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer." Then Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) led the prayer, and the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed sitting behind Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him).
Hadith 2424
Sayyiduna Buraidah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) became ill, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Order Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer." Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "O Messenger of Allah! Indeed, my father is a very soft-hearted man." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Order Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer; you are like the women of Yusuf." Thus, Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) led the people in prayer while the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was alive.
