It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Travel is a portion of torment, it prevents you from eating, drinking, and sleeping. Therefore, when any of you has completed his work during travel, he should hasten to return to his home."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that a man who intended to travel came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and said: O Messenger of Allah! Advise me. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: I advise you to fear Allah and to say "Allahu Akbar" (Allah is the Greatest) whenever you ascend a high place. When that man turned to leave, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: O Allah! Fold the earth for this man (i.e., shorten his journey) and make his travel easy for him.

Salim bin Abdullah narrates that when someone came to my father, Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), with the intention of traveling, he would say: Come close to me, so that I may bid you farewell in the same manner as the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to bid us farewell. Then he would say: I entrust your religion, your trust, and the end of your deeds to Allah.

Then he took my hand and said: I entrust your religion, your trust, and the end of your deeds to Allah.
