Hadith 2292
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Travel is a portion of torment, it prevents you from eating, drinking, and sleeping. Therefore, when any of you has completed his work during travel, he should hasten to return to his home."
Hadith 2293
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Malik that when the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, intended to set out on a journey, he would not begin the journey on any day other than Thursday.
Hadith 2294
(Second chain) Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) says: When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to travel, he would rarely set out except on a Thursday.
Hadith 2295
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that a man who intended to travel came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and said: O Messenger of Allah! Advise me. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: I advise you to fear Allah and to say "Allahu Akbar" (Allah is the Greatest) whenever you ascend a high place. When that man turned to leave, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: O Allah! Fold the earth for this man (i.e., shorten his journey) and make his travel easy for him.
Hadith 2296
Salim bin Abdullah narrates that when someone came to my father, Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), with the intention of traveling, he would say: Come close to me, so that I may bid you farewell in the same manner as the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to bid us farewell. Then he would say: I entrust your religion, your trust, and the end of your deeds to Allah.
Hadith 2297
(Second chain) Qaza'ah says: Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) sent me for some task and said: Come here so that I may bid you farewell as the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) bade me farewell when sending me for some task. Then he took my hand and said: I entrust your religion, your trust, and the end of your deeds to Allah.
