Hadith 2036
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you performs prayer in the mosque, then returns to his home, he should perform two rak'ahs in his house. A servant should continue to offer voluntary prayers in his house, because Allah Almighty sends goodness and blessings upon his house due to his prayer.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you performs prayer in the mosque, he should reserve a portion of his prayer for his home as well, because Allah Almighty will bring goodness and blessings to his house due to his prayer.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O people! Perform prayers in your homes, for apart from the obligatory prayer, the most virtuous prayer a person offers is the one performed in his home.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) that he asked the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about prayer in the house and in the mosque. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Prayer in the mosque and prayer in the house—you see how close my house is to the mosque, but it is more beloved to me to pray in my house than to pray in the mosque, except if it is an obligatory prayer.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A servant’s offering of voluntary prayers in his house is light; whoever wishes, let him illuminate and brighten his house.
