Hadith 2023
Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I said, "O Messenger of Allah! Has Surah Al-Hajj been given superiority over the rest of the Qur'an because of its two prostrations?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Yes, and whoever does not perform these prostrations should not recite it."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) perform a prostration (sajdah) in Surah Sad.
Hadith 2025
It is also narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), he said regarding the prostration (sajdah) of Surah Sad: This is not among the obligatory prostrations, however, I have seen the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performing its prostration.

Hadith 2027
Awwam bin Hawshab says: I asked Mujahid about the prostration (sajdah) in Surah Sad. He replied: Yes, it is a prostration. And I had asked about it from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), so he said: Do you recite this verse: {وَمِنْ ذُرِّیَّتِہٖ دَاودَ وَ سُلَیمَانَ}, at the end of which is: {فَبِہُدَاہُمُ اقْتَدِہْ} (O Muhammad! You too follow their guidance). See, your Prophet has been commanded to follow Dawud (peace be upon him).
Hadith 2028
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) saw in a dream that he was writing Surah Sad. When he reached the verse of prostration, he saw that the inkwell, pen, and everything near him had fallen into the state of prostration. Then, when he related this dream to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) began to perform prostration in it.
