Hadith 2002
عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ) أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى الظُّهْرَ خَمْسًا، فَقِيلَ: زِيدَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ؟ قِيلَ: صَلَّيْتَ خَمْسًا، فَسَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led five rak'ahs in the Zuhr prayer. Someone asked: "Has the prayer been increased?" Someone said: "You have led five rak'ahs." Therefore, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed two prostrations.
Hadith 2003
(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَانٍ) أَنَّ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى بِهِمْ خَمْسًا، ثُمَّ انْفَتَلَ فَجَعَلَ بَعْضُ الْقَوْمِ يُوَشْوِشُ إِلَى بَعْضٍ، فَقَالُوا لَهُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ! صَلَّيْتَ خَمْسًا؟ فَانْفَتَلَ فَسَجَدَ بِهِمْ سَجْدَتَيْنِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَالَ: ((إِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ أَنْسَى كَمَا تَنْسَوْنَ))
(Second chain) The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) led the people in five rak‘ahs, and after saying salam, he turned and sat facing them. Some people began to speak secretly among themselves. Then they said, "O Messenger of Allah! You have led five rak‘ahs." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) turned back, performed two prostrations, said salam, and said: "I am only a human being; just as you forget, I also forget."
Hadith 2004
(وَمِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَالِثٍ) عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَجَدَهُمَا بَعْدَ السَّلَامِ، وَقَالَ مَرَّةً: إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَجَدَ السَّجْدَتَيْنِ فِي السَّهْوِ بَعْدَ السَّلَامِ
(Third chain) Sayyiduna Abdullah said that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed prostrations after the salutation, and on one occasion said: Indeed, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed two prostrations after the salutation due to forgetfulness.
Hadith 2005
(وَمِنْ طَرِيقٍ رَابِعٍ) عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى الظُّهْرَ أَوِ الْعَصْرِ خَمْسًا ثُمَّ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيِ السَّهْوِ ثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((هَاتَانِ السَّجْدَتَانِ لِمَنْ ظَنَّ مِنْكُمْ أَنَّهُ زَادَ أَوْ نَقَصَ))
(Fourth chain) It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led five rak'ahs in the Zuhr or Asr prayer, and then performed two prostrations of forgetfulness (sahw), and after that, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: These two prostrations are for the person who thinks that he has made an addition or a deficiency.
Hadith 2006
(وَمِنْ طَرِيقٍ خَامِسٍ) عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَهَا فِي الصَّلَاةِ فَسَجَدَ بِهِمْ سَجْدَتَيِ السَّهْوِ بَعْدَ الْكَلَامِ
(Fifth chain) The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forgot during the prayer, then after speaking, he performed two prostrations of forgetfulness.
