Hadith 1938
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent me (for some task), while he himself was going towards Banu Mustaliq. When I returned to him, he was praying on his camel. I spoke to him in that state, but he (peace and blessings be upon him) gestured with his hand. I tried to speak again, but he (peace and blessings be upon him) gestured with his hand again, while I was hearing him reciting and gesturing with his head. When he (peace and blessings be upon him) finished, he said: What happened to the task for which I sent you? The only thing that prevented me from speaking was that I was praying. At that time, he (peace and blessings be upon him) was facing towards the east.
Hadith 1939
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) led us in the Fajr prayer, (the combined meaning of the words of both narrators, Abdur Razzaq and Khalaf, is that) during the prayer, he began to lower his hand in front of himself or began to bend himself. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) finished, the people asked about this action. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Indeed, Satan was throwing sparks of fire at me to cause me trouble in my prayer, so I thought of catching him, and if I had caught him, he would not have escaped from me, and he would have been tied to one of the pillars of the mosque, and the children of Madinah would have looked at him.
Hadith 1940
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that a companion of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah be pleased with him) named Suhaib said: I passed by the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) while he was praying. I greeted him with salam, so he responded to me by gesturing. The narrator says: I do not know except this, that he mentioned gesturing with the finger.
Hadith 1941
It is also narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I asked Sayyiduna Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) that when people used to send salutations upon the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) during prayer, how did you reply? He said: He used to gesture with his hand.

It is narrated from Yazid bin Kaisan, he says: I sought permission from Salim bin Abu Ja’d while he was praying, he replied to me by saying “Subhan Allah.” Then when he finished the prayer with salam, he said: When a man is praying, his way of granting permission is to say “Subhan Allah,” and for a woman, it is to clap.
Hadith 1944
Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I used to come to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). So when I would ask permission and he was in prayer, he would say "Subhan Allah," and if he was not in prayer, he would grant me permission.
Hadith 1945
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When Satan makes me forget something in prayer, men should say Subhan Allah and women should clap.
Hadith 1946
Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa’d Sa’idi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If anyone faces a need during prayer, he should say Subhan Allah. Clapping is for women, and saying Subhan Allah is for men.

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Saying "Subhan Allah" is for men and clapping is for women.
