Hadith 1921
Urwah reports that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him) performed Hajj. During this journey, he would give the call to prayer (adhan) and lead his companions in prayer. One day, he stood up to lead the prayer, but then said: "Let one of you lead the prayer, for I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: When any of you intends to relieve himself and the prayer has been established, he should relieve himself first."
Hadith 1922
Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: None of you should approach prayer in a state when he is restraining stool or urine, and one should not enter a house without permission, and no imam should lead a people in prayer in such a way that he singles out himself in supplication, leaving them out.
Hadith 1923
Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: One should not perform prayer when food is present, nor at a time when two filthy things are being resisted.
Hadith 1924
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When the night meal is served and the call for the establishment of prayer (iqamah) is also given, then begin with the food.
Hadith 1925
Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you becomes drowsy during prayer, he should sleep until the effect of sleep has gone away, because if he prays while in that drowsy state, it is possible that he may (think he is) seeking forgiveness, while in fact he is cursing himself.
Hadith 1926
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you becomes drowsy during prayer, he should leave the prayer and go to sleep until he understands what he is saying.
