Hadith 1812
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: When any of you finishes the final Tashahhud, he should seek refuge from these four things: from the punishment of Hell, from the punishment of the grave, from the trials of life and death, and from the evil of the False Messiah (Dajjal).
Hadith 1813
Hazrat Tawoos used to recite these words after the last Tashahhud in the Isha prayer and considered them very great: "I seek refuge with Allah from the punishment of Hell, and I seek refuge with Allah from the evil of the False Messiah (Dajjal), and I seek refuge with Allah from the punishment of the grave, and I seek refuge with Allah from the trials of life and death." (I seek refuge with Allah from the punishment of Hell, and I seek refuge with Allah from the evil of the False Messiah (Dajjal), and I seek refuge with Allah from the punishment of the grave, and I seek refuge with Allah from the trials of life and death.) He considered them great and mentioned them from the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) on the authority of Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her).
Hadith 1814
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Urwah bin Zubair that the wife of the Messenger, Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), informed him that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to supplicate in prayer: "O Allah! I seek refuge with You from the punishment of the grave, and I seek refuge with You from the trial of the False Messiah (Dajjal), and I seek refuge with You from the trials of life and death. O Allah! I seek refuge with You from sin and debt." (O Allah! I seek Your protection from the punishment of the grave, I seek Your protection from the trial of the False Messiah, I seek Your protection from the trials of life and death, O Allah! I seek Your protection from sin and debt.)
A man said to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): O Messenger of Allah! Why do you seek refuge from debt so frequently? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: When a man is in debt, he speaks and tells lies, and he makes promises and breaks them.
Hadith 1815
It is narrated from a Companion of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked a man: What do you say in prayer? He replied: First I recite the Tashahhud, then I supplicate in this way: O Allah, I ask You for Paradise and seek refuge in You from the Fire. I cannot recite in a humming manner like you and Mu'adh do. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: We also hum around these words.
Hadith 1816
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mihjan bin Adra’ (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) entered the mosque and saw a man who, after completing his prayer, was reciting this supplication in the Tashahhud: “O Allah! Indeed, I ask You, O Allah, the One, the Unique, the Self-Sufficient, Who neither begets nor is begotten, and there is none comparable to Him, that You forgive my sins. Indeed, You are the Most Forgiving, Most Merciful.” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Indeed, he has been forgiven, indeed, he has been forgiven, indeed, he has been forgiven.” That is, he said it three times.
Hadith 1817
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Abzi, may Allah be pleased with him, who says that when the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, would sit and supplicate in prayer, he would place his right hand on his thigh and then gesture with his finger.
Hadith 1818
(Second chain) The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to gesture with the index finger during prayer.
Hadith 1819
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Namir Khuzai (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sitting in prayer, and his right arm was placed on his right thigh, and he was raising the index finger while supplicating, and this finger was slightly bent.
Hadith 1820
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by Sayyiduna Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) while he was supplicating with two fingers, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O Sa’d! Supplicate with one (finger).
