بَابُ حُجَّةِ الْقَائِلِينَ بِعَدَمِ الْقُنُوتِ فِي الصُّبْحِ إِلَّا عِنْدَ النَّوَازِلِ
Chapter on the Evidence of Those Who Say Qunoot in Fajr Is Only for Calamities
Hadith 1772
(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَانٍ) (1) قَالَ: رَكَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ ثُمَّ رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ فَقَالَ: ((اللَّهُمَّ أَنْجِ عَيَّاشَ بْنَ أَبِي رَبِيعَةَ إِلَى أَنْ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهَا سِنِينَ كَسِنِينِ يُوسُفَ، اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ)) ثُمَّ خَرَّ سَاجِدًا
(Second chain) They say: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, bowed in prayer, then raised his head and made this supplication: O Allah! Deliver Ayyash bin Abi Rabi’ah... O Allah! Make for them a famine like that of Yusuf (Joseph), peace be upon him.
Hadith 1773
عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِأَبِي: يَا أَبَتِ! إِنَّكَ قَدْ صَلَّيْتَ خَلْفَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَعُمَرَ وَعُثْمَانَ وَعَلِيٍّ هَٰهُنَا بِالْكُوفَةِ قَرِيبًا مِنْ خَمْسِ سِنِينَ، أَكَانُوا يَقْنُتُونَ؟ قَالَ: أَيْ بُنَيَّ مُحْدَثٌ
Abu Malik Ashja'i says: I said to my father: O my dear father, indeed you have prayed behind the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), Sayyiduna Umar, Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with them), and here in Kufa behind Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) for five years; so did these people recite Qunoot? He said: O my beloved son, this is a new thing.
Hadith 1774
(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَانٍ) قَالَ: كَانَ أَبِي قَدْ صَلَّى خَلْفَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ سِتَّ عَشْرَةَ سَنَةً وَأَبِي بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ وَعُثْمَانَ، فَقُلْتُ لَهُ: أَكَانُوا يَقْنُتُونَ؟ قَالَ: لَا، أَيْ بُنَيَّ مُحْدَثٌ
(Second chain) They said: My father had performed prayer behind the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, at the age of sixteen, then he also performed prayer behind Sayyiduna Abu Bakr, Sayyiduna Umar, and Sayyiduna Uthman, may Allah be pleased with them. I asked him: Did they perform Qunoot? He said: No, my dear son, this is a new thing.
