Hadith 1740
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would wrap himself in a cloth and pray in it, and with its extra part, he would protect himself from the heat and cold of the ground.
Hadith 1741
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) says: We used to pray with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in intense heat, and when one of us was unable to place his face on the ground, he would spread his cloth and prostrate on it.
Hadith 1742
Abdullah bin Abdur Rahman (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) came to us in the mosque of Banu Abdul Ashhal and led us in prayer. I saw that when he (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) prostrated, he placed both his hands in his garment.
Hadith 1743
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) says: Indeed, I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on a rainy day avoiding the mud, and that was in such a way that when he performed prostration, he would place a part of the cloak he was wearing on the ground under his hands.
Hadith 1744
Sayyar bin Ma’rur says: I heard Sayyiduna ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) delivering a sermon, and he was saying: Indeed, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) built this mosque, while we, the Muhajirun and Ansar, were with him (peace and blessings be upon him). So when the crowd becomes large, a person should prostrate on the back of his brother. Then Sayyiduna ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) saw some people praying on the road and said to them: Pray in the mosque.
Hadith 1745
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Companions complained to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) that if they spread out (in prostration), it becomes difficult for them in sujood. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: Then seek help from your knees. Ibn ‘Ajlan says: Its manner is that when the prostration becomes lengthy and a person becomes tired, he should rest his elbows on his knees.
