It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I have been commanded to prostrate on seven parts and not to wrap the hair and clothes.
Hadith 1736
(Second chain) They say that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was commanded to prostrate on seven parts and was forbidden from wrapping his hair and clothes.
Hadith 1737
(Third chain) The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: I have been commanded to prostrate on seven parts: the forehead—along with this, he, peace and blessings be upon him, pointed towards his nose—both hands, both knees, and the edges of the toes (of both feet), and I have also been commanded not to gather up the clothes and hair.
Hadith 1738
Sayyiduna Abbas bin Abdul Muttalib narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When a person performs prostration, seven parts of his body prostrate along with him: the face, both palms, both knees, and both feet.
Hadith 1739
Umar bin Yahya narrates from his father or uncle, who says: I had hair that reached my shoulders, so when I performed prostration, I would lift them up. Abu Hasan Mazni saw me doing this and said: Do you lift them so that they do not get dirt on them? By Allah! I will surely shave them off. Then he shaved that hair.
