Hadith 1690
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed ruku, he would say: "O Allah! For You I have bowed, in You I have believed, and to You I have submitted. You are my Lord. My hearing, my sight, my mind, my bones, my nerves, and whatever my foot has supported itself with—all have humbled themselves for Allah, the Lord of the worlds."
Hadith 1691
Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) says: When this verse {فَسَبِّحْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّکَ الْعَظِیْمِ} was revealed, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Adopt its implication in your bowing (ruku‘). When {سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّکَ الْأَعْلٰی} was revealed, he said: Adopt its implication in your prostration (sajdah).
Hadith 1692
Sayyiduna Hudhayfah bin Yaman (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I prayed with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and in bowing he would say "Subhana Rabbiyal 'Azim" and in prostration "Subhana Rabbiyal A'la". Also, when he would pass by a verse mentioning mercy, he would pause and ask for mercy, and when he would pass by a verse mentioning punishment, he would seek refuge from it.
Hadith 1693
It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) used to recite this supplication in bowing and prostration: Subbuhun Quddusun Rabbul-mala’ikati war-ruh. (He is the Most Glorious, Most Holy, Lord of the angels and the Spirit (i.e., Jibreel).)
Hadith 1694
It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to frequently recite this supplication in bowing and prostration: Subhanak Allahumma wa bihamdika, ighfir li (O Allah! You are pure and with Your praise, so forgive me). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite this supplication in accordance with the practice of the Noble Qur'an.
Hadith 1695
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to frequently make this supplication: “Subhanaka Rabbana wa bihamdika Allahumma ighfir li.” (O our Lord! You are pure and with Your praise, O Allah! Forgive me.) Then when this Surah {إِذَاجَاءَ نَصْرُ اللّٰہِ وَالْفَتْحُ} was revealed, he would supplicate: “Subhanaka Rabbana wa bihamdika, Allahumma ighfir li, innaka anta al-tawwab al-raheem.” (O our Lord! You are pure and with Your praise, O Allah! Forgive me, surely You are the Most Accepting of repentance, the Most Merciful.)
Hadith 1696
(Second chain) They say: Ever since {إِذَا جَائَ نَصْرُ اللّٰہِ وَالْفَتْحُ} was revealed to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, whenever he recited it, he would mostly recite this supplication three times in the following bowing: Subhanaka Rabbana wa bihamdika, Allahumma ighfir li, innaka anta al-tawwab al-raheem.
Hadith 1697
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I spent the night at the house of my maternal aunt, Sayyida Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) woke up during the night, then the complete hadith is mentioned. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed ruku and in ruku said: "Subhana Rabbiyal Azim." Then he raised his head and praised Allah Almighty for as long as He willed. Then he performed sajdah and in sajdah said: "Subhana Rabbiyal A'la." Then he raised his head and between the two prostrations made this supplication: "Rabbighfir li, warhamni, wajburni, warfa'ni, warzuqni, wahdini." (O my Lord! Forgive me, have mercy on me, mend my shortcomings, elevate me, provide for me, and guide me.)
