It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, ordered that in the ‘Isha prayer, the Surahs relating to the heavens should be recited.
Hadith 1634
. (Second chain) The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to recite the Surah containing "the sky"—that is, Surah Al-Buruj and Surah At-Tariq—in the 'Isha prayer.
Hadith 1635
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Bara’ bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was on a journey, and in one rak‘ah of the ‘Isha prayer, he (peace and blessings be upon him) recited Surah At-Tin. I have not heard any person whose recitation was better than that of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). In another narration, it is stated: I have not heard any person whose voice and prayer were better than that of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).
Hadith 1636
Sayyiduna Buraidah Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) used to recite Surah Ash-Shams and similar surahs in the ‘Isha prayer.
Hadith 1637
Abu Majliz says: Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) led his companions in prayer while they were traveling from Makkah Mukarramah to Madinah Munawwarah. He performed two rak'ahs of the 'Isha prayer, then stood up and recited one hundred verses of Surah An-Nisa in one rak'ah. When people objected to this, he said: Wherever the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) placed his foot, I have not fallen short in placing my foot in the same place, and in whatever the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) did, I have not fallen short in doing the same.
