Hadith 1426
Sayyiduna Amr bin Shu'aib narrates from his father, and he from his grandfather (Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As, may Allah be pleased with him), who says: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performing prayer; after finishing, sometimes he would turn to the right side and sometimes to the left side. He would also pray barefoot and sometimes with shoes on. I also saw that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would drink while standing and also while sitting.
Hadith 1427
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was praying, when suddenly he took off his shoes. Seeing this, the people praying behind him also took off their shoes. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) finished the prayer, he asked the people: "Why did you take off your shoes?" The people replied: "O Messenger of Allah! When we saw you take off your shoes, we also took ours off." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Jibril (peace be upon him) came to me and informed me that there was impurity on them (so I took off my shoes)." (Now the ruling regarding this is that) when a person comes to the mosque, he should turn his shoes over and look at them; if he sees any filth on them, he should clean it by rubbing it on the ground, and then he may pray in them.
Hadith 1428

Abu al-Awbar says that a man came to Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) and said: Are you the one who forbids people from praying in shoes? Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: No, rather, by the Lord of this Haram, I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) praying towards this place while wearing shoes, and when he finished the prayer, he was wearing shoes. (Consider further that) the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade fasting on Friday unless it coincides with other days. And in another narration: I saw the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he prayed in his shoes.

He said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, came to us at Quba and sat in the shade of dense trees, and people gathered around him. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, asked for water, so water was given to him and he drank it. I was on his right side and I was a young boy among the people, then he handed (the cup) to me and I also drank from it. I remember that on that day the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, led us in prayer while he was wearing his shoes and did not take them off.

Nevertheless, he replied: One day the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, came to us in our mosque, that is, the Mosque of Quba. We also came and sat with him, and other people also arrived. Then he remained seated as long as Allah willed, then stood up and began to pray. I saw that he was praying in his shoes.
