Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Do not uncover your thigh, nor look at the thigh of a living or dead person.
Hadith 1386
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by a man whose thigh was exposed (from his clothing). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Cover your thigh, for the thigh of a man is among the parts that must be concealed.
Hadith 1387
Sayyiduna Amr bin Shu'aib narrates from his father, and he from his grandfather (Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As) (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When your children reach the age of seven, start instructing them to perform prayer, and when they reach the age of ten, discipline them (if they are negligent in prayer), and separate their beds. And when a man marries his slave-girl to his slave or his laborer, he should not look at her (private) parts; (remember that) the limit of 'awrah is from the navel to the knees.
Hadith 1388
Zar’ah bin Muslim narrates from Sayyiduna Jarhad (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw Sayyiduna Jarhad (may Allah be pleased with him) in the mosque, and although he had a sheet over him, his thigh was uncovered. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The thigh is something that should be covered.
Hadith 1389
With another chain of narration, it is narrated from Abdullah bin Jurhad Aslami that he heard from his father Sayyiduna Jurhad (may Allah be pleased with him), who said that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: The thigh of a Muslim man is ‘awrah (a part that must be covered).
Hadith 1390
And it is narrated from them with a third chain of transmission: He narrates from his father that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, passed by him while his thigh was uncovered. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Cover it, for it is part of the 'awrah.
Hadith 1391
Sayyiduna Muhammad bin Jahsh (may Allah be pleased with him), who is the brother-in-law of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by Sayyiduna Mu’ammar (may Allah be pleased with him) in the courtyard of the mosque. He was sitting with his thigh uncovered, having wrapped his cloth around himself. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: “O Mu’ammar! Cover your thigh, for the thigh is included in the ‘awrah (part of the body that must be covered).”
Hadith 1392
And from them, it is narrated with another chain, they say: I was with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), we passed by Muammar and his thighs were uncovered. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: Muammar! Cover your thighs, for the thighs are also 'awrah.
