Chapter on the Seriousness of Neglecting to Respond to the Mu’adhdhin and Leaving the Mosque After the Adhan
4 hadith
Hadith 1312
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Anas al-Juhani, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: This is sheer injustice, rather it is disbelief and hypocrisy, that a person hears the caller (muezzin) inviting towards success, yet he does not respond to him.
Hadith 1313
Abu Sha’tha says that after the mu’adhdhin had given the adhan, a man left the mosque. Seeing this, Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: This person has disobeyed Abu al-Qasim (peace and blessings be upon him). In the narration reported by Sharik, it is stated: Then Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded us: When you are in the mosque and the adhan is called for prayer, none of you should leave (the mosque) until he has performed the prayer.
Hadith 1314
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: When any of you hears the call to prayer while a vessel is in his hand, he should not put it down until he has fulfilled his need from it.
Hadith 1315
And in the hadith narrated with another chain, there is this additional statement: Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: And the muezzin would call the adhan when the dawn would break.
