7 hadith
Hadith 1258
Abu Sa’sa’ah, who was raised by Sayyiduna Abu Sa’id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him), says: Sayyiduna Abu Sa’id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) said to me: My dear son! When you give the adhan, call the adhan in a loud voice, because I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Everything that hears it will bear witness for him, whether it is a jinn, a human, or a stone. And on one occasion he said: My son! When you are in the wilderness (i.e., uninhabited areas), raise your voice for the adhan, because I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: No jinn, no human, no stone, and nothing hears it except that it will bear witness for him on the Day of Resurrection.
Hadith 1259
And from the same Abu Sa’sa’ah, through another chain of narration, it is reported that Sayyiduna Abu Sa’id said: When you are among your sheep or in the wilderness and call the adhan for prayer, then raise your voice in the adhan, because whatever jinn, human, or thing hears the extent of the muezzin’s voice, it will bear witness for him on the Day of Resurrection. I heard these words from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him.
Hadith 1260
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: When the call to prayer (adhan) is given, Satan flees while passing wind loudly so that he does not hear the adhan. When the adhan is finished, he returns. Then, when the iqamah for prayer is pronounced, he flees again. When the iqamah is completed, he returns and begins to cast whispers between a person and his soul. He says (to the worshipper): Remember such-and-such work, remember such-and-such work—things which he did not remember before (he makes him remember). As a result, the person reaches a state where he does not know how much of the prayer he has performed.
Hadith 1261
And from them, through another chain of narration, it is reported that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: When Satan hears the muezzin giving the call to prayer, he flees, passing wind, so far that he cannot hear the call. When the muezzin finishes, he returns and begins to cast whispers. Then, when the muezzin begins the iqamah, Satan does the same (i.e., he flees).
Hadith 1262
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When the muezzin calls the adhan, Satan runs away until he reaches the place of Ruha, and this place is at a distance of thirty miles from Madinah.
Hadith 1263
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: The supplication made between the adhan and the iqamah is not rejected.
Hadith 1264
It is narrated from Jabir bin Abdullah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: When the call to prayer is made, the gates of the heavens are opened and supplication is accepted.
