Chapter on Whoever Forgets a Prayer, Its Time Is When He Remembers
Hadith 1222

عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((مَنْ نَسِيَ صَلَاةً أَوْ نَامَ عَنْهَا فَإِنَّمَا كَفَّارَتُهَا (وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ: فَكَفَّارَتُهَا) أَنْ يُصَلِّيَهَا إِذَا ذَكَرَهَا))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever forgets a prayer or sleeps through it, its expiation is that when he remembers it, he should perform it.
Hadith 1223
وَعَنْهُ فِي أُخْرَى عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ((إِذَا رَقَدَ أَحَدُكُمْ عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ أَوْ غَفَلَ عَنْهَا فَلْيُصَلِّهَا إِذَا ذَكَرَهَا، فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَقُولُ: {أَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ لِذِكْرِي}))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When a person sleeps through a prayer or becomes heedless of it, then when he remembers it, he should perform it, because Allah the Exalted has said: "And establish prayer for My remembrance." (Surah Ta-Ha: 14)
Hadith 1224
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثَنَا عَفَّانُ ثَنَا هَمَّامٌ أَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ قَالَ: أَحْسِبُهُ مَرْفُوعًا: ((مَنْ نَسِيَ صَلَاةً فَلْيُصَلِّهَا حِينَ يَذْكُرُهَا وَمِنَ الْغَدِ لِلْوَقْتِ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever forgets a prayer should offer it when he remembers it, and on the next day, he should pray at its appointed time.
