بَابٌ فِي فَضْلِ صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ وَالْعِشَاءِ
Chapter on the Virtue of Fajr and ‘Isha’ Prayers
Hadith 1185
عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ((مَنْ صَلَّى صَلَاةَ الصُّبْحِ فَلَهُ ذِمَّةُ اللَّهِ فَلَا تُخْفِرُوا اللَّهَ ذِمَّتَهُ، فَإِنَّهُ مَنْ أَخْفَرَ ذِمَّتَهُ طَلَبَهُ اللَّهُ حَتَّى يُكِبَّهُ عَلَى وَجْهِهِ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever has performed the Fajr prayer, then for him is Allah Almighty’s guarantee, so do not break Allah Almighty’s guarantee, and whoever breaks His guarantee, then He will demand him and will throw him face down into Hell.
Hadith 1186
عَنْ جُنْدُبِ (بْنِ سُفْيَانَ الْبَجَلِيِّ) رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ((مَنْ صَلَّى صَلَاةَ الْفَجْرِ فَهُوَ فِي ذِمَّةِ اللَّهِ فَلَا تُخْفِرُوا ذِمَّةَ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَلَا يَطْلُبَنَّكُمْ بِشَيْءٍ مِنْ ذِمَّتِهِ))
Sayyiduna Jundub bin Sufyan Bajali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever performs the Fajr prayer comes under the protection of Allah, so do not break Allah's covenant, and do not let it be that Allah demands from you anything from His covenant."
Hadith 1187
عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ((مَنْ صَلَّى صَلَاةَ الْغَدَاةِ فَهُوَ فِي ذِمَّةِ اللَّهِ فَلَا تُخْفِرُوا اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى فِي ذِمَّتِهِ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Samurah bin Jundub (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) said: Whoever performs the Fajr prayer comes under the protection of Allah Almighty, so do not break the protection of Allah Almighty.
Hadith 1188
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي عُمَيْرِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ عَنْ عُمُومَةٍ لَهُ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: ((لَا يَشْهَدُهُمَا مُنَافِقٌ)) يَعْنِي صَلَاةَ الصُّبْحِ وَالْعِشَاءِ، قَالَ أَبُو بِشْرٍ: يَعْنِي لَا يُوَاظِبُ عَلَيْهِمَا
Abu Umair bin Anas narrates from his uncles, who were companions, that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The hypocrite does not attend these two prayers. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) meant the Fajr and Isha prayers. Abu Bishr, the narrator, said: The meaning of this hadith is that the hypocrite does not persist in performing these two prayers.
Hadith 1189
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: ((لَوْ جُعِلَ لِأَحَدِهِمْ أَوْ لِأَحَدِكُمْ مِرْمَاتَانِ حَسَنَتَانِ أَوْ عَرْقٌ مِنْ شَاةٍ سَمِينَةٍ لَأَتَوْهَا أَجْمَعُونَ، وَلَوْ يَعْلَمُونَ مَا فِيهِمَا يَعْنِي الْعِشَاءَ وَالصُّبْحَ لَأَتَوْهُمَا وَلَوْ حَبْوًا، وَلَقَدْ هَمَمْتُ أَنْ آمُرَ رَجُلًا يُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ ثُمَّ آتِيَ أَقْوَامًا يَتَخَلَّفُونَ عَنْهَا أَوْ عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ فَأُحَرِّقَ عَلَيْهِمْ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If for someone the two hooves of a fat goat or any bone are made, then all these people will come to him; if they come to know how much reward there is in ‘Isha and Fajr, they will surely come to perform them, even if they have to crawl. And indeed, I have intended that I order someone to lead the people in prayer, and I go to those who have stayed behind from the prayer and burn them.
