Hadith 1002
عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ! أَخْبِرْنِي بِمَا افْتَرَضَ اللَّهُ عَلَيَّ مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ، فَقَالَ: ((افْتَرَضَ اللَّهُ عَلَى عِبَادِهِ صَلَوَاتٍ خَمْسًا)) قَالَ: هَلْ عَلَيَّ قَبْلَهُنَّ أَوْ بَعْدَهُنَّ؟ قَالَ: ((افْتَرَضَ اللَّهُ عَلَى عِبَادِهِ صَلَوَاتٍ خَمْسًا)) قَالَهَا ثَلَاثًا، قَالَ: وَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ! لَا أَزِيدُ فِيهِنَّ شَيْئًا وَلَا أَنْقُصُ مِنْهُنَّ شَيْئًا، قَالَ: فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ إِنْ صَدَقَ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), he states that a man came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! Tell me about the prayers that Allah Almighty has made obligatory upon me. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty has made five prayers obligatory upon His servants. He said: Is there any prayer obligatory upon me before or after these? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty has made five prayers obligatory upon His servants. He said this three times. Then that man said: By Him in Whose hand is my soul! I will neither add anything to them nor decrease anything from them. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If he is truthful, he will enter Paradise.
Hadith 1003
عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: فُرِضَ عَلَى نَبِيِّكُمْ خَمْسُونَ صَلَاةً، فَسَأَلَ رَبَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فَجَعَلَهَا خَمْسًا
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: Fifty prayers were made obligatory upon your Prophet, then he asked his Lord, so He reduced them to five.
Hadith 1004
(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ آخَرَ) أُمِرَ نَبِيُّكُمْ بِخَمْسِينَ صَلَاةً، فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ
(Second chain) Your Prophet was commanded to perform fifty prayers, … .
Hadith 1005
عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ (مِنْ حَدِيثٍ طَوِيلٍ عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ سَيَأْتِي بِتَمَامِهِ فِي الْإِسْرَاءِ) قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((فَرَضَ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى عَلَى أُمَّتِي خَمْسِينَ صَلَاةً، قَالَ: فَرَجَعْتُ بِذَلِكَ حَتَّى أَمُرَّ عَلَى مُوسَى عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ، فَقَالَ: مَا ذَا فَرَضَ رَبُّكَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى عَلَى أُمَّتِكَ؟ قُلْتُ: فَرَضَ عَلَيْهِمْ خَمْسِينَ صَلَاةً، فَقَالَ لَهُ مُوسَى عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ: رَاجِعْ رَبَّكَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى، فَإِنَّ أُمَّتَكَ لَا تُطِيقُ ذَلِكَ، قَالَ: فَرَاجَعْتُ رَبِّي عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فَوَضَعَ شَطْرَهَا فَرَجَعْتُ إِلَى مُوسَى فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ، فَقَالَ: رَاجِعْ رَبَّكَ فَإِنَّ أُمَّتَكَ لَا تُطِيقُ ذَلِكَ، قَالَ: فَرَاجَعْتُ رَبِّي، فَقَالَ: هِيَ خَمْسٌ وَهِيَ خَمْسُونَ، لَا يُبَدَّلُ الْقَوْلُ لَدَيَّ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) (this is a long hadith, narrated from Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him), the complete hadith will come in the chapter of Isra, at this point the following part is required:) The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty made fifty prayers obligatory upon my Ummah. So I returned with these things, and when I passed by Musa (peace be upon him), he said: What has your Lord made obligatory upon your Ummah? I said: Fifty prayers have been made obligatory upon them. Hearing this, Musa (peace be upon him) said: Speak to your Lord, your Ummah will not have the strength for this action. So I spoke to my Lord, and Allah Almighty forgave half of the prayers. Then I returned to Musa (peace be upon him) and informed him, but he again said: Speak to your Lord again, for your Ummah will not have the strength for so many prayers. So I spoke to my Lord again, and Allah Almighty said: These are five and these are fifty; My word is not changed with Me.
Hadith 1006
عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ: فُرِضَتِ الصَّلَاةُ رَكْعَتَيْنِ فَزَادَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي صَلَاةِ الْحَضَرِ وَتَرَكَ صَلَاةَ السَّفَرِ فِي نَحْوِهَا
It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), she says: The prayer was made obligatory as two rak'ahs, then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) increased the prayer in residence, and left the travel prayer as it was.
Hadith 1007
عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فَرَضَ الصَّلَاةَ عَلَى لِسَانِ نَبِيِّكُمْ عَلَى الْمُقِيمِ أَرْبَعًا وَعَلَى الْمُسَافِرِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَعَلَى الْخَائِفِ رَكْعَةً
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that Allah Almighty, through the tongue of your Prophet, has made four rak‘ahs obligatory for the resident, two for the traveler, and one rak‘ah for the one who is in fear.
Hadith 1008
عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: كَانَتِ الصَّلَاةُ خَمْسِينَ، وَالْغُسْلُ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ سَبْعَ مِرَارٍ، وَالْغَسْلُ مِنَ الْبَوْلِ سَبْعَ مِرَارٍ، فَلَمْ يَزَلْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَسْأَلُ حَتَّى جُعِلَتِ الصَّلَاةُ خَمْسًا وَالْغُسْلُ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ مَرَّةً وَالْغَسْلُ مِنَ الْبَوْلِ مَرَّةً
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: The prayers were fifty, the ritual bath (ghusl) after major impurity was also seven times, and washing urine was also seven times. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) kept asking, until five prayers, one ritual bath after major impurity, and washing urine once were legislated.
