Hadith 964
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that a woman came to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! How should I perform ghusl (ritual bath) when attaining purity? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Take a piece of cloth, etc., on which musk has been applied, and purify yourself with it. She said: How should I purify myself with it? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Purify yourself with it. She again said: How should I purify myself with it? Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) expressed amazement and said, "Subhan Allah," and turned away from her, and then said: Purify yourself with it. Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says: I understood what the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) meant, so I pulled the woman towards me and explained to her what the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was trying to say to her.
Hadith 965
(Second chain) It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that Sayyida Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) asked the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about the ritual bath (ghusl) after menstruation. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The woman should take water and leaves of the lote tree, and perform ablution, and perform ablution well, then pour water over her head and rub it well, so that the water reaches the roots of the hair, then pour water over her body, then take a piece of cloth, etc., on which musk has been applied, and purify herself with it. Sayyida Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) asked: How should she purify herself with it? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Glory be to Allah! Purify yourself with it. Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: It was as if this matter was hidden from her, that she should apply it to the traces of blood. And I asked about the ritual bath after sexual impurity (janabah), the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Take water, perform ablution, and perform ablution well, then pour water over your head and rub it well, so that the water reaches the roots of the hair, then pour water over your body. Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The women of the Ansar are the best women; modesty does not prevent them from acquiring understanding of the religion.
Hadith 966
It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the women of the Ansar were mentioned, she praised them and spoke well of them, and she said: When Surah An-Nur was revealed, these Ansari women turned to their waist wrappers and tore them to make veils. Sayyida also mentioned that once an Ansari woman came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! Tell me about attaining purity after menstruation. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Yes, a woman should take care to use water and lotus leaves, ... ... . Then a hadith similar to the previous hadith was mentioned.
