بَابٌ فِي طَهَارَةِ بَدَنِ الْحَائِضِ وَثَوْبِهَا حَاشَا مَوْضِعَ الدَّمِ مِنْهُمَا
Chapter on the Purity of the Body and Garment of a Menstruating Woman Except for the Place of Blood
Hadith 960
عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ (بْنِ الْيَمَانِ) رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: بِتُّ بِآلِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيْلَةً فَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي وَعَلَيْهِ طَرَفُ اللِّحَافِ وَعَلَى عَائِشَةَ طَرَفُهُ وَهِيَ حَائِضٌ لَا تُصَلِّي
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Hudhayfah bin Yaman (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I spent a night with the family of the Messenger. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, got up at night and began to pray, while one edge of the blanket was upon him, and the other edge was upon Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), while she was menstruating and was not praying.
Hadith 961
عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَدَّادٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ مَيْمُونَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَقُولُ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُومُ فَيُصَلِّي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ وَأَنَا نَائِمَةٌ إِلَى جَنْبِهِ فَإِذَا سَجَدَ أَصَابَنِي ثِيَابُهُ وَأَنَا حَائِضٌ
It is narrated from the wife of the Messenger, Sayyida Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her), she says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would wake up at night and perform prayer, and I would be lying beside him. When he (peace and blessings be upon him) would go into prostration, his garment would touch me, while I was menstruating.
Hadith 962
عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا أَنَّهَا طَرَقَتْهَا الْحَيْضَةُ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي فَأَشَارَتْ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِثَوْبٍ وَفِيهِ دَمٌ فَأَشَارَ إِلَيْهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ: اغْسِلِيهِ، فَغَسَلْتُ مَوْضِعَ الدَّمِ ثُمَّ أَخَذَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَلِكَ الثَّوْبَ فَصَلَّى فِيهِ
It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha (RA) that she began menstruating at night while the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was praying. She gestured towards a piece of cloth to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and there was blood on it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) indicated during the prayer that she should wash it. So she washed the place of the blood, then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) took that cloth and began to pray in it.
Hadith 963
وَعَنْهَا أَيْضًا قَالَتْ: كُنْتُ أَبِيتُ أَنَا وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الشِّعَارِ الْوَاحِدِ وَأَنَا طَامِثٌ حَائِضٌ، قَالَتْ: فَإِنْ أَصَابَهُ مِنِّي شَيْءٌ غَسَلَهُ لَمْ يَعْدُ مَكَانَهُ وَصَلَّى فِيهِ
It is also narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), she says: I and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to spend the night in one garment while I was menstruating. If blood would get on the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he would wash that spot and would not go beyond the affected area, and then he would pray in it.
