It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever bathes a deceased person should perform ghusl himself, and whoever lifts him should perform wudu.
(Second chain) The Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: After washing the deceased, one must perform ghusl (full ritual bath), and after carrying the deceased, one must perform wudu (ablution).
(The third chain) The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Whoever bathes a deceased person should also perform ghusl (ritual bath) himself.
Sayyiduna Mughirah bin Shu’bah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated a hadith of this kind from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).
