It is narrated from Sayyiduna Fakih bin Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him), who was a companion, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to perform ghusl (ritual bath) on the day of Jumu’ah, the day of ‘Arafah, the day of Eid al-Fitr, and the day of Eid al-Adha. On this basis, Sayyiduna Fakih (may Allah be pleased with him) used to instruct his family members to perform ghusl on these days.
Hadith 914
It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Ghusl is performed for four things: for Jumu'ah, for Janabah, after cupping, and after washing a deceased person.
