It is narrated from Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that if any one of us becomes in a state of janabah and then wishes to sleep, what should he do? (Second chain) A similar hadith is narrated from Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), except that in it: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) instructed them to wash their private parts and perform the ablution for prayer.
Hadith 902
Nafi’ reports: It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): Can a person sleep in a state of major ritual impurity (janabah)? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: Yes, but he should perform ablution (wudu) as for prayer. Whenever Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) intended to do so, he would perform ablution as for prayer, except that he would not wash his feet.

Abdullah bin Khabbab reports that Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) mentioned before the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he becomes in a state of janabah while he intends to sleep.
