بَابُ الْوُضُوءِ مِمَّا مَسَّتِ النَّارُ
Chapter on Ablution After Eating What Has Been Touched by Fire
Hadith 799
عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ قَارِظٍ قَالَ: مَرَرْتُ بِأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ وَهُوَ يَتَوَضَّأُ فَقَالَ: أَتَدْرِي مِمَّ أَتَوَضَّأُ؟ مِنْ أَثْوَارِ أَقِطٍ أَكَلْتُهَا، إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: ((تَوَضَّأُوا مِمَّا مَسَّتِ النَّارُ))
Abdullah bin Qariz says: I passed by Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) while he was performing ablution. He said to me: Do you know why I am performing ablution? Because of eating pieces of cheese, for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Perform ablution after eating anything that has been cooked over fire.
Hadith 800
عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلُهُ
Sayyiduna Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) has also narrated a similar hadith from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
Hadith 801
عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: ((تَوَضَّأُوا مِمَّا غَيَّرَتِ النَّارُ لَوْنَهُ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Perform ablution after eating anything whose color has been changed by fire.
Hadith 802
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَكَلَ ثَوْرَ أَقِطٍ فَتَوَضَّأَ مِنْهُ وَصَلَّى
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) ate a piece of cheese, performed ablution from it, and offered prayer.
Hadith 803
عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ مَوْلَى مُعَاوِيَةَ قَالَ: دَخَلْتُ مَسْجِدَ دِمَشْقَ فَرَأَيْتُ نَاسًا مُجْتَمِعِينَ وَشَيْخٌ يُحَدِّثُهُمْ، قُلْتُ: مَنْ هَٰذَا؟ قَالُوا: سُهَيْلُ بْنُ الْحَنْظَلِيَّةِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: ((مَنْ أَكَلَ لَحْمًا فَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ))
Sayyiduna Muawiyah’s (ra) servant Qasim says: I entered the mosque of Damascus and saw that people were gathered and an elder was narrating hadiths to them. I asked: Who is this elder? They said: This is Sayyiduna Suhail bin Hanzaliyah (ra). Then I heard him narrating this hadith: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever eats meat should perform ablution.
