أبواب الوضوءChapters on Ablution
بَابٌ فِي جَوَازِ الْوُضُوءِ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ وَاسْتِحْبَابِهِ لِمَنْ أَرَادَ النَّوْمَ
Chapter on the Permissibility of Performing Ablution in the Mosque and Its Recommendation for One Who Wishes to Sleep
Hadith 721
عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: حَفِظْتُ لَكَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَوَضَّأَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ
It is narrated from a Companion, who says: I have remembered this for you, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, performed ablution in the mosque.
Hadith 722
عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَنَامَ (وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ: زِيَادَةُ وَهُوَ جُنُبٌ) تَوَضَّأَ وَضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلَاةِ
It is narrated from Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), she says: When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to sleep while he was in a state of janabah, he would perform ablution as for prayer.
Hadith 723
(وَعَنْهَا مِنْ طَرِيقٍ آخَرَ) أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَرْقُدَ تَوَضَّأَ وَضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلَاةِ ثُمَّ يَرْقُدُ
. (Second chain) When the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, intended to sleep, he would perform ablution as for prayer and then sleep.
Hadith 724
عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ((إِذَا أَوَيْتَ إِلَى فِرَاشِكَ فَتَوَضَّأْ وَنَمْ عَلَى شِقِّكَ الْأَيْمَنِ وَقُلْ: اللَّهُمَّ أَسْلَمْتُ وَجْهِيَ إِلَيْكَ، … )) الْحَدِيثَ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Bara’ bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When you go to your bed, perform ablution, lie on your right side, and recite this supplication: “O Allah, I have submitted my face to You…” .
