Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, when a servant performs ablution and completes the ablution, then begins the prayer and performs the prayer completely, he becomes purified from his sins just as he was when he came out of his mother's womb."
Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) also narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever performs ablution and performs it well, then begins the prayer and offers it, the sins committed between this prayer and the next prayer he offers are forgiven."
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Zaid bin Khalid Al-Juhani, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever performs ablution and performs it well, and then offers two units of prayer without forgetting, Allah Almighty will forgive his past sins."
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: We used to serve the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ourselves and would take turns to graze the camels. One day it was my turn. When I returned the camels in the evening, I found the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) standing and speaking to the people. I heard him say: “Whoever among you performs ablution and completes the ablution, then stands and offers two rak‘ahs in such a way that he turns his heart and face towards Allah, Paradise becomes obligatory for him and he is forgiven.” Hearing this, I said: “How excellent is this!” But someone in front of me said: “Uqbah! The statement that was said before this was even more excellent.” When I looked at that person, it was Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him). I said: “Abu Hafs! What was that statement?” He said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said before you came: “Whoever among you performs ablution and completes the ablution, then recites this supplication: «أَشْہَدُأَنْلَاإِلٰہَإِلَّااللّٰہُوَحْدَہُلَاشَرِيْكَلَہُوَأَنَّمُحَمَّدًاعَبْدُہُوَرَسُوْلُہُ» … (I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, He is alone, He has no partner, and Muhammad [peace and blessings be upon him] is His servant and Messenger). For such a person, all eight gates of Paradise are opened, and he may enter through whichever of them he wishes.”
Sayyiduna Amr bin Abasah Salami (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When a person stands for ablution with the intention of prayer and lets the water of ablution reach its prescribed places, he becomes purified from his sins or mistakes. Then, if he stands for prayer, Allah Almighty raises his rank, and if he sits down, he sits down purified from sins."
Sayyiduna Abu Umamah Himsi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Wudu erases previous sins, then prayer is added." Someone asked: "Did you hear this hadith from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)?" He replied: "Yes, not just once, twice, three, four, or five times (but more than that)."

Abu Ghalib Rasbi, may Allah have mercy on him, says: I met Sayyiduna Abu Umamah Hamsi, may Allah be pleased with him, and asked him about some matters. He narrated that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "When a person stands up to perform ablution upon hearing the call to prayer, with the very first drop of water that touches his palm, he is forgiven, and this continues with every drop, until when he completes his ablution, his previous sins have been forgiven and the prayer he performs is increased in reward."
Abu Ghalib, may Allah have mercy on him, says: I said to Sayyiduna Abu Umamah, may Allah be pleased with him: "Did you hear this hadith from the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him?" He said: "Why not, by the One Who sent him, peace and blessings be upon him, with the truth as a bearer of glad tidings and a warner! Not once, but two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten times, and not just ten times," then he clapped his hands to indicate the number.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: "When you use the water of ablution in its proper place, you will sit forgiven; then if a person stands and performs prayer, there is virtue and reward for him in it." A man said to him: "O Abu Umamah! What is your opinion regarding this, that if such a person stands and performs prayer, will his prayer be considered extra?" He said: "No, this being extra was for the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). For an ordinary servant, this prayer will be a means of virtue and reward."

Abu Muslim (may Allah have mercy on him) says: I went to Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him), while he was sitting in the mosque searching for lice and pressing them into the pebbles. I said: "O Abu Umamah! Indeed, a man has narrated this hadith from you: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: 'Whoever performs ablution and perfects his ablution, then washes his hands, washes his face, wipes his head and ears, and then stands for the obligatory prayer, then the sins of that day will be forgiven for him—those to which his feet walked, those about which his hands decided, those which his ears heard, his eyes saw, and his soul spoke evil about.'" He said: "By Allah! I have heard this hadith countless times from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)."

Asim bin Sufyan Thaqafi, may Allah have mercy on him, says: We went for the expedition of Salasil, but the expedition did not take place, so they kept watch on the frontier and then returned to Sayyiduna Muawiyah, may Allah be pleased with him, while Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub, may Allah be pleased with him, and Sayyiduna Uqbah bin Amir, may Allah be pleased with him, were also sitting with him. Asim said: "O Abu Ayyub! This year we missed out on jihad, while we have been told that whoever prays in four mosques, his sins will be forgiven." He said: "Nephew! Shall I not tell you an easier deed than this? Indeed, I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: 'Whoever performs ablution as he has been commanded, and prays as he has been commanded to pray, his previous sins will be forgiven.'" Uqbah! Is this not the same hadith? He said: "Yes, indeed."
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Darda’ (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: “O people! Indeed, I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: ‘Whoever performs ablution and perfects the ablution, then prays two units of prayer completely, whatever he asks Allah Almighty for, He will grant it to him sooner or later.’”
Yusuf bin Abdullah bin Salam (may Allah have mercy on him) says: I went to Sayyiduna Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) while he was suffering from the illness of death. He asked me: "Nephew! What made you intend to come to this city? What brought you here?" I said: "Nothing in particular, I have only come because of the relationship that existed between you and my father." Sayyiduna Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "This is a bad time to lie. I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: 'Whoever performs ablution and performs it well, then stands and prays two or four rak'ahs, and in them remembers Allah well and shows humility, then asks Allah for forgiveness, he will be forgiven.'"
