Section on Sprinkling Water on the Private Part After Cleaning
Hadith 548
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ثَنَا سُفْيَانُ وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ أَنَا سُفْيَانُ وَزَائِدَةُ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ سُفْيَانَ أَوْ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ، قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ فِي حَدِيثِهِ: رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَالَ وَتَوَضَّأَ وَنَضَحَ فَرْجَهُ بِالْمَاءِ، وَقَالَ يَحْيَى فِي حَدِيثِهِ: إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَالَ وَنَضَحَ فَرْجَهُ (وَفِي لَفْظٍ: بَالَ ثُمَّ نَضَحَ فَرْجَهُ)
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Hakam bin Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he urinated and performed ablution and sprinkled water on his private part. The words of Yahya bin Sa‘id (may Allah have mercy on him) are: "Indeed, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) urinated and sprinkled water on his private part." In another narration: "He (peace and blessings be upon him) urinated and then sprinkled water on his private part."
Hadith 549
(وَمِنْ طَرِيقٍ آخَرَ) عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ ثَقِيفٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَالَ وَنَضَحَ فَرْجَهُ
(Second chain) The father of a man from Banu Thaqif (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) urinated and sprinkled water on his private part.
