Hadith 518

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((مَنِ اسْتَجْمَرَ فَلْيُوْتِرْ، وَمَنْ فَعَلَ فَقَدْ أَحْسَنَ وَمَنْ لَا فَلَا حَرَجَ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever performs istinja (cleansing) with stones, let him use an odd number of stones, and whoever does so has done well, and whoever does not, there is no harm."
Hadith 519
وَعَنْهُ أَيْضًا أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ((مَنْ تَوَضَّأَ فَلْيَنْثُرْ وَمَنِ اسْتَجْمَرَ فَلْيُوْتِرْ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever performs ablution should clean his nose, and whoever uses stones for istinja should use an odd number of stones."
Hadith 520
عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((إِذَا اسْتَجْمَرَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيُوْتِرْ))
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When anyone performs istinja with stones, he should use an odd number."
