Hadith 512
عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ نَهَانَا عَنْ أَنْ نَسْتَدْبِرَ الْقِبْلَةَ أَوْ أَنْ نَسْتَقْبِلَهَا بِفُرُوجِنَا إِذَا أَهْرَقْنَا الْمَاءَ، قَالَ: ثُمَّ رَأَيْتُهُ قَبْلَ مَوْتِهِ بِعَامٍ مُسْتَقْبِلَ الْقِبْلَةِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade us from turning our back or face towards the Qiblah while urinating, but I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), one year before his passing, facing the Qiblah (while relieving himself).
Hadith 513
عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: رَقِيتُ يَوْمًا فَوْقَ بَيْتِ حَفْصَةَ فَرَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى حَاجَتِهِ مُسْتَقْبِلَ الشَّامِ مُسْتَدْبِرَ الْقِبْلَةِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), he says: One day I climbed onto the roof of the house of Sayyidah Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with her) and saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) facing towards the direction of Shaam and with his back towards the Qiblah while relieving himself.
Hadith 514
((وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَانٍ) بِلَفْظِ) لَقَدْ ظَهَرْتُ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ عَلَى ظَهْرِ بَيْتِنَا فَرَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَاعِدًا عَلَى لَبِنَتَيْنِ مُسْتَقْبِلًا بَيْتَ الْمَقْدِسِ
(Second chain) Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: One day I climbed onto the roof of my house and saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sitting on two bricks and relieving himself facing towards Bayt al-Maqdis.
Hadith 515
وَعَنْهُ أَيْضًا قَالَ: رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَتَخَلَّى عَلَى لَبِنَتَيْنِ مُسْتَقْبِلَ الْقِبْلَةِ
It is also narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), he says: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sitting on two bricks, facing the Qiblah, relieving himself.
Hadith 516
عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، أَنَّهُ رَأَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَبُولُ مُسْتَقْبِلَ الْقِبْلَةِ، قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ: قَالَ أَبِي: ثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ يَعْنِي الطَّبَّاعَ مِثْلَهُ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو قَتَادَةَ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he saw the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) urinating while facing the Qiblah.
Hadith 517
عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: مَا اسْتَقْبَلْتُ الْقِبْلَةَ بِفَرْجِي مُنْذُ كَذَا وَكَذَا، فَحَدَّثَ عِرَاكُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَ بِخَلَاءِهِ أَنْ يُسْتَقْبَلَ الْقِبْلَةَ لَمَّا بَلَغَهُ أَنَّ النَّاسَ يَكْرَهُونَ ذَلِكَ، (وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ) قَالَتْ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((قَدْ فَعَلُوهَا؟ اسْتَقْبِلُوا بِمَقْعَدَتِي الْقِبْلَةَ))
Umar bin Abdul Aziz, may Allah have mercy on him, said: For such a long time, I have not turned my private parts towards the Qiblah, but Iraq bin Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, narrated that Sayyida Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, said: When the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, learned that people disliked facing the Qiblah, he, peace and blessings be upon him, ordered that “his, peace and blessings be upon him, latrine be constructed facing the Qiblah.” In another narration: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Have people started thinking like this? Then turn my seat towards the Qiblah.”
