Hadith 484
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثَنَا مُعَاذٌ بْنُ هِشَامٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَرْجِسٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: ((لَا يَبُولَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي الْجُحْرِ، وَإِذَا نِمْتُمْ فَأَطْفِئُوا السِّرَاجَ، فَإِنَّ الْفَأْرَةَ تَأْخُذُ الْفَتِيلَةَ فَتَحْرِقُ أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ، وَأَوْكِئُوا الْأَسْقِيَةَ وَخَمِّرُوا الشَّرَابَ وَغَلِّقُوا الْأَبْوَابَ بِاللَّيْلِ)) قَالُوا لِقَتَادَةَ: مَا يَكْرَهُ مِنَ الْبَوْلِ فِي الْجُحْرِ؟ قَالَ: يُقَالُ: إِنَّهَا مَسَاكِنُ الْجِنِّ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Sarjis (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No person should ever urinate in a hole, and when you go to sleep, extinguish the lamp, for a mouse may drag its wick and burn the people of the house. Tie the mouths of the water-skins, cover the vessels, and close the doors at night." People asked Qatadah (may Allah have mercy on him): "Why is urinating in a hole disliked?" He said: "It is said that these are the dwellings of the jinn."
Hadith 485
عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُغَفَّلٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((لَا يَبُولَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي مُسْتَحَمِّهِ ثُمَّ يَتَوَضَّأُ فِيهِ، فَإِنَّ عَامَّةَ الْوِسْوَاسِ مِنْهُ))
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade that "a person should urinate in his bathing place," because most doubts (whispers) occur due to this.
Hadith 486
(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَانٍ) قَالَ: نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَبُولَ الرَّجُلُ فِي مُسْتَحَمِّهِ، فَإِنَّ عَامَّةَ الْوِسْوَاسِ مِنْهُ
(Second chain) The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) forbade that "a person should urinate in his bathing place," because most doubts (whispers) arise due to this.
Hadith 487
عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْحِمْيَرِيِّ قَالَ: لَقِيتُ رَجُلًا قَدْ صَحِبَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَرْبَعَ سِنِينَ كَمَا صَحِبَهُ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ أَرْبَعَ سِنِينَ، قَالَ: نَهَانَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَمْتَشِطَ أَحَدُنَا كُلَّ يَوْمٍ وَأَنْ يَبُولَ فِي مُغْتَسَلِهِ وَأَنْ تَغْتَسِلَ الْمَرْأَةُ بِفَضْلِ الرَّجُلِ وَأَنْ يَغْتَسِلَ الرَّجُلُ بِفَضْلِ الْمَرْأَةِ، وَلْيَغْتَرِفُوا (وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ: وَلْيَغْتَرِفَا) جَمِيعًا
Humaid bin Abdur Rahman Himyari (may Allah have mercy on him) says: I met such a companion who had the honor of the company of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) for four years, just like Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him). He said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) forbade us from combing our hair every day, or urinating in the bathhouse, or for a wife to perform ghusl (ritual bath) with water left over by her husband, or for a husband to bathe with water left over by his wife. They should both take water together (i.e., bathe together at the same time).
