Hadith 453
عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ نَاسًا أَتَوُا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ عُكْلٍ فَاجْتَوَوُا الْمَدِينَةَ فَأَمَرَ لَهُمْ بِذَوْدِ لِقَاحٍ، فَأَمَرَهُمْ أَنْ يَشْرَبُوا مِنْ أَبْوَالِهَا وَأَلْبَانِهَا
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, who says: Some people from the tribe of ‘Ukl came to the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and found the climate of Madinah unsuitable. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, ordered for them milch camels and said, “Let those people drink their urine and milk.”
Hadith 454
عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: كُنْتُ أَلْقَى مِنَ الْمَذِيِّ شِدَّةً، فَكُنْتُ أُكْثِرُ الْاِغْتِسَالَ مِنْهُ، فَسَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ: ((إِنَّمَا يُجْزِيكَ مِنْهُ الْوُضُوءُ)) فَقُلْتُ: كَيْفَ بِمَا يُصِيبُ ثَوْبِي؟ فَقَالَ: ((يَكْفِيكَ أَنْ تَأْخُذَ كَفًّا مِنْ مَاءٍ فَتَمْسَحَ بِهَا مِنْ ثَوْبِكَ حَيْثُ تَرَى أَنَّهُ أَصَابَ))
Sayyiduna Sahl bin Hunaif (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I used to face great difficulty because of madhi (pre-seminal fluid) and I used to perform ghusl (full ritual bath) very frequently because of it. One day when I asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he said: "For you, only wudu (ablution) will suffice because of it." I said: "What should I do about what gets on my clothes?" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It will suffice for you to take a handful of water and strike it on the part of the garment where you think the madhi has touched."
Hadith 455
عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: كُنْتُ رَجُلًا مَذَّاءً وَكُنْتُ أَسْتَحْيِي أَنْ أَسْأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِمَكَانِ ابْنَتِهِ، فَأَمَرْتُ الْمِقْدَادَ فَسَأَلَهُ فَقَالَ: ((يَغْسِلُ ذَكَرَهُ وَأُنْثَيَيْهِ وَيَتَوَضَّأُ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I was a man who had a lot of madhi (pre-seminal fluid), and because of the daughter of the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) (Sayyidah Fatimah, may Allah be pleased with her), I was shy to ask the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), so I instructed Sayyiduna Miqdad (may Allah be pleased with him), and he asked. The Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "He should wash his private part and testicles and then perform wudu."
Hadith 456
((وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَانٍ) بِنَحْوِهِ) وَفِيهِ: فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((تَوَضَّأَ وَانْضَحْ فَرْجَكَ))
(Second chain) It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Perform ablution and sprinkle water on your private part."
Hadith 457
(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَالِثٍ) بِنَحْوِهِ وَفِيهِ: فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((فِيهِ الْوُضُوءُ))
(Third chain) It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is ablution in it."
Hadith 458
(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ رَابِعٍ) بِنَحْوِهِ وَفِيهِ: فَأَمَرْتُ رَجُلًا فَسَأَلَهُ، فَقَالَ: ((تَوَضَّأَ وَاغْسِلْهُ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I instructed a man, so he asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Perform ablution and wash it (the private part)."
Hadith 459
وَعَنْهُ أَيْضًا قَالَ: كُنْتُ رَجُلًا مَذَّاءً فَسَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: ((إِذَا حَذَفْتَ فَاغْتَسِلْ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ، وَإِذَا لَمْ تَكُنْ حَاذِفًا فَلَا تَغْتَسِلْ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I was a man who had a lot of madhiy (pre-seminal fluid), so I asked the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you emit semen, perform ghusl due to janabah, and when you do not emit semen, then do not perform ghusl."
Hadith 460
((وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَانٍ) بِنَحْوِهِ) وَفِيهِ: فَقَالَ: ((إِذَا رَأَيْتَ الْمَذِيَّ فَتَوَضَّأْ وَاغْسِلْ ذَكَرَكَ وَإِذَا رَأَيْتَ فَضْخَ الْمَاءِ فَاغْتَسِلْ))
(Second chain) It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you see madhiy (pre-seminal fluid), perform ablution and wash your private part, and when you see the dripping of water, that is, semen, then perform ghusl (full ritual bath)."
Hadith 461
(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَالِثٍ بِنَحْوِهِ) وَفِيهِ فَقَالَ: ((فِيهِ الْوُضُوءُ وَفِي الْمَنِيِّ الْغُسْلُ))
(Third chain) It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is ablution (wudu) for this, but there is a bath (ghusl) for semen."
Hadith 462
عَنِ الْمِقْدَادِ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ لِي عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ: سَلْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يُلَاعِبُ أَهْلَهُ فَيَخْرُجُ مِنْهُ الْمَذِيُّ مِنْ غَيْرِ مَاءِ الْحَيَاةِ، فَلَوْ لَا أَنَّ ابْنَتَهُ تَحْتِي لَسَأَلْتُهُ، فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ! الرَّجُلُ يُلَاعِبُ أَهْلَهُ فَيَخْرُجُ مِنْهُ الْمَذِيُّ مِنْ غَيْرِ مَاءِ الْحَيَاةِ، قَالَ: ((يَغْسِلُ فَرْجَهُ وَيَتَوَضَّأُ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلَاةِ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Miqdad bin Aswad (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said to me: "You ask the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about the man who plays with his wife and because of this, the water of life does not come out from him, but madhi (pre-seminal fluid) does come out. If the daughter of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) were not my wife, I would have asked myself." So I said: "O Messenger of Allah! A man plays with his wife and the water of life does not come out from him, but madhi does come out?" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Such a man should wash his private part and perform ablution for prayer."
Hadith 463
((وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَانٍ) بِنَحْوِهِ) وَفِيهِ فَقَالَ (يَعْنِي النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ): ((إِذَا وَجَدَ أَحَدُكُمْ ذَلِكَ فَلْيَنْضَحْ فَرْجَهُ وَيَتَوَضَّأْ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلَاةِ))
(Second chain) It is narrated from Sayyiduna Miqdad bin Aswad (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When any one of you encounters this thing, he should sprinkle water on his private part, that is, wash it, and perform the ablution for prayer."
Hadith 464
(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ ثَالِثٍ بِنَحْوِهِ) وَفِيهِ: ((فَإِذَا وَجَدَ ذَلِكَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَنْضَحْ فَرْجَهُ وَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلَاةِ)) يَعْنِي يَغْسِلْهُ
(Third chain) It is narrated from Sayyiduna Miqdad bin Aswad (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When any one of you finds this thing, he should sprinkle water on his private part and perform the ablution for prayer." By sprinkling water on that place, what is meant is washing it.
Hadith 465
عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ عَائِشِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ الْبَكْرِيِّ قَالَ: تَذَاكَرَ عَلِيٌّ وَعَمَّارٌ وَالْمِقْدَادُ الْمَذِيَّ، فَقَالَ عَلِيٌّ: إِنِّي رَجُلٌ مَذَّاءٌ وَإِنِّي أَسْتَحْيِي أَنْ أَسْأَلَهُ مِنْ أَجْلِ ابْنَتِهِ تَحْتِي، فَقَالَ لِأَحَدِهِمَا، لِعَمَّارٍ أَوِ الْمِقْدَادِ: قَالَ عَطَاءٌ: سَمَّاهُ لِي عَائِشٌ فَنَسِيتُهُ، سَلْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسَأَلْتُهُ فَقَالَ: ((ذَاكَ الْمَذِيُّ، لِيَغْسِلْ ذَاكَ مِنْهُ))، قُلْتُ: مَا ذَاكَ مِنْهُ؟ قَالَ: ذَكَرَهُ، وَيَتَوَضَّأُ فَيُحْسِنُ وُضُوءَهُ أَوْ يَتَوَضَّأُ مِثْلَ وُضُوءِهِ وَيَنْضَحُ فِي فَرْجِهِ أَوْ فَرْجَهُ
Aish bin Anas Bakri (may Allah have mercy on him) says: Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), Sayyiduna Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him), and Sayyiduna Miqdad (may Allah be pleased with him) discussed the matter of madhi (pre-seminal fluid). Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I experience a lot of madhi and I feel shy to ask the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about it because his daughter is married to me." So he told either Sayyiduna Ammar (may Allah be pleased with him) or Sayyiduna Miqdad (may Allah be pleased with him) to ask the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) about it. Ata (may Allah have mercy on him) says: Aish mentioned the name of one of them, but I have forgotten; in any case, they asked, and the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This is madhi; he should wash it off." I asked: "Wash what?" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "His private part, and he should perform ablution well and sprinkle water on his private part, that is, wash it."
