Hadith 432
عَنْ أَبِي ثَعْلَبَةَ الْخُشَنِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ! إِنَّا أَهْلُ سَفَرٍ نَمُرُّ بِالْيَهُودِ وَالنَّصَارَى وَالْمَجُوسِ وَلَا نَجِدُ غَيْرَ آنِيَتِهِمْ، قَالَ: ((فَإِنْ لَمْ تَجِدُوا غَيْرَهَا فَاغْسِلُوهَا بِالْمَاءِ ثُمَّ كُلُوا فِيهَا وَاشْرَبُوا))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Tha’labah (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I said, “O Messenger of Allah! We are people who travel, and we often pass by the Jews, Christians, and Magians, and we can only find their utensils?” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “So if you cannot find other utensils, then wash them with water and use them for eating and drinking.”
Hadith 433
(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ آخَرَ) قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ! إِنَّ أَرْضَنَا أَرْضُ أَهْلِ كِتَابٍ وَإِنَّهُمْ يَأْكُلُونَ لَحْمَ خِنْزِيرٍ وَيَشْرَبُونَ الْخَمْرَ فَكَيْفَ أَصْنَعُ بِآنِيَتِهِمْ وَقُدُورِهِمْ؟ قَالَ: ((إِنْ لَمْ تَجِدُوا غَيْرَهَا فَارْحَضُوهَا وَاطْبَخُوا فِيهَا وَاشْرَبُوا))
(Second Chain) It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Tha’labah (may Allah be pleased with him), he says: I said, “O Messenger of Allah! Indeed, our area is the area of the People of the Book, and they eat the flesh of swine and drink wine. Now, what should I do with their utensils and pots?” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “If you do not find other utensils, then wash them and cook in them and drink from them.”
Hadith 434
عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: كُنَّا نُصِيبُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي مَغَانِمِنَا مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ الْأَسْقِيَةَ وَالْأَوْعِيَةَ فَنَقْتَسِمُهَا وَكُلُّهَا مَيْتَةٌ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both), he says: We used to be with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and among the spoils obtained from the polytheists, we would also get water skins and vessels, but we would distribute them, even though all of them were from dead animals.
Hadith 435
عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ يَهُودِيًّا دَعَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى خُبْزِ شَعِيرٍ وَإِهَالَةٍ سَنِخَةٍ فَأَجَابَهُ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, that he said: A Jew invited the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, to a meal of barley bread and gravy with rancid fat, and he, peace and blessings be upon him, accepted it.
