Hadith 411
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: دَخَلَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ الْمَسْجِدَ فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ قَالَ: اللَّهُمَّ ارْحَمْنِي وَمُحَمَّدًا وَلَا تَرْحَمْ مَعَنَا أَحَدًا، فَالْتَفَتَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: ((لَقَدْ تَحَجَّرْتَ وَاسِعًا))، ثُمَّ لَمْ يَلْبَثْ أَنْ بَالَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَأَسْرَعَ النَّاسُ إِلَيْهِ، فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((إِنَّمَا بُعِثْتُمْ مُيَسِّرِينَ وَلَمْ تُبْعَثُوا مُعَسِّرِينَ، أَهْرِيقُوا عَلَيْهِ دَلْوًا مِنْ مَاءٍ)) أَوْ ((سَجْلًا مِنْ مَاءٍ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that a Bedouin entered the mosque and, after performing two units of prayer, made this supplication: "O Allah! Have mercy on me and on Muhammad (peace be upon him), and do not have mercy on anyone else along with us." The Noble Prophet (peace be upon him) turned towards him and said: "You have made something vast into something narrow." Soon after, this Bedouin began to urinate in the mosque, so the people rushed towards him, but the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) instructed them: "You have only been sent to make things easy for people, not to make things difficult. Pour a bucket of water over this urine."
Hadith 412
(وَعَنْهُ مِنْ طَرِيقٍ آخَرَ) دَخَلَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ الْمَسْجِدَ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَالِسٌ فَقَالَ: اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِمُحَمَّدٍ وَلَا تَغْفِرْ لِأَحَدٍ مَعَنَا، فَضَحِكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَالَ: ((لَقَدِ احْتَظَرْتَ وَاسِعًا)) ثُمَّ وَلَّى حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ فِي نَاحِيةِ الْمَسْجِدِ فَشَجَّ يَبُولُ، فَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: ((إِنَّمَا بُنِي هَذَا الْبَيْتُ لِذِكْرِ اللَّهِ وَالصَّلَاةِ وَإِنَّهُ لَا يُبَالُ فِيهِ))، ثُمَّ دَعَا بِسَجْلٍ مِنْ مَاءٍ فَأَفْرَغَهُ عَلَيْهِ، قَالَ: يَقُولُ الْأَعْرَابِيُّ بَعْدَ أَنْ فَقِهَ: فَقَامَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَيَّ، بِأَبِي هُوَ وَأُمِّي فَلَمْ يَسُبَّ وَلَمْ يُؤَنِّبْ وَلَمْ يَضْرِبْ
(Second chain) A Bedouin entered the mosque while the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was present there. He supplicated, saying: "O Allah! Forgive me and Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, and do not forgive anyone else along with us." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, smiled and said: "You have made something vast into something narrow." Then he walked away, and when he reached a corner of the mosque, he spread his legs and began to urinate. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, stood up and said: "This house has been made solely for the remembrance of Allah and for prayer; urination is not to be done in it." Then the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, called for a bucket of water and poured it over the spot. After understanding the religion, the Bedouin used to say: "The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, stood towards me—may my parents be sacrificed for him—he neither spoke harshly to me, nor scolded me, nor hit me."
Hadith 413
عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: جَاءَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ فَبَالَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ: ((أَهْرِيقُوا عَلَيْهِ ذَنُوبًا أَوْ سَجْلًا مِنْ مَاءٍ))
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, he says: A Bedouin came and urinated in the mosque. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Pour a bucket of water over it."
